Privacy Policy

Clianta ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Clianta desktop application and the cloud platform at app.clianta.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google. We do not store your Google password.

Instagram Credentials

When you connect an Instagram account, your login session is stored locally on your device (desktop app) or encrypted on our servers (cloud mode). We store session cookies to keep you logged in — we do not store your Instagram password in plain text. Cloud mode credentials are encrypted at rest.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage data to improve the Service, including feature usage patterns, error logs, and performance metrics. We use PostHog for product analytics. This data does not include your Instagram messages or lead information.

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. We only receive and store a reference to your Stripe customer ID and subscription status.

Lead and Message Data

Leads you import or generate, message templates you create, and conversation history are stored locally in the desktop app's database and/or synced to our cloud database if you use cloud mode. This data belongs to you.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your Instagram messages or lead data for advertising or marketing purposes.

3. Data Storage and Security

Desktop app: Your data is stored locally on your computer in an encrypted SQLite database. It never leaves your device unless you enable cloud sync.

Cloud mode: Data is stored on servers secured with encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). Our cloud database is hosted on Supabase with row-level security policies ensuring users can only access their own data.

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services that may process your data:

When AI auto-reply is enabled, relevant conversation context is sent to an AI provider to generate responses. No data is used to train AI models.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Desktop app data is stored entirely on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the application or manually clear your data.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@clianta.com.

7. Cookies

The Service uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. Our analytics provider (PostHog) may use cookies to track anonymous usage. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers, consistent with applicable data protection laws.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
